Harold B. Stone

1924-2013

Harold Stone was born on April 30, 1924. He joined the National Guard and was called into active duty in 1941. As a lieutenant before the age of 18, Harold became the youngest artillery officer in the United States Army. He earned the Purple Heart, Air Medal, Bronze Star, Distinguished Flying Cross, and American Defense Medal. He graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1951 and began practicing law the following year.

In 1974, he formed Stone & Hinds, P.C., with Anna Hinds, where he worked for the remainder of his legal career. He also served as an officer in the Kiwanis Club, the Knoxville Opera Board of Directors, the board of directors of Presbyterian Homes of Tennessee, as an elder at Second Presbyterian Church, as a Commodore of the Fort Loudoun Yacht Club, and as a member of the Sons of the Revolution. Harold Stone remained active in the practice of law until he passed on August 28, 2013.
